My passion for photography has propelled me to many places few people have visited before, from the North Pole to the South Pole and many wild places in between. It has also enabled me to travel with some of the world's greatest explorers and adventurers, as well as to share time and stories with workaday, resilient people in vanishing cultures around the world. No matter what the subject matter, my favorite pictures almost always seem very simple. My goal is to freeze moments that instantly catch my viewers' eyes, make them care about my subjects and perhaps even shape their perceptions. The irony is that these "simple" pictures are often quite complicated to create, but the quest to keep learning has provided me with ever-increasing wonder and awe at the diversity of our spectacular planet. |
